WORKSHOP WITH SPECIALISTS 4 – 9 June 2018

During the workshop of 4-9 June 2018, glass icons restoration specialists from seven professional institutions in Romania evaluated the “Ion Muşlea” collection and established the conservation and restoration methodology for the deteriorated icons; the experts underwent minimum interventions on the objects and drew the documentation of the interventions. The methodology was established  also on the basis of non-invasive XRF analyzes (X-ray fluorescence), previously completed. Minimum interventions and analyzes were carried out on 18 icons in poor conservation status, almost half of the Ion Muşlea collection. All the icons have been verified and where needed, solutions have been proposed for future conservation and restoration.
