Context: Journalist and politician, Barbu Catargiu occupied the position of prime minister in the first government after the unification of Romania, between January 22nd 1862 and June 20th 1862, when he was assassinated. Alexandru Lapedatu was interested in the topic and put forwards the hypothesis that Barbu Catargiu was killed by Gheorghe Bogati, a paid assassin.
